Very integrated, sour fruit has fallen out leaving sweeter cherry notes. Tannin really only show on the finish as the fruit fades slightly quicker leaving a bitter structure.
Good acidity, quite herbaceous. Not heavy on alcohol and hardly noticeable which I find a great characteristic of martinbrough PN!

Decent wine this, IF you like this style of Pinot. Rich, almost jubey black and red fruit nose, hit of oak, smoky spice. Fruit driven on day 1, day 2 saw some of the famous Martinborough tannins emerge on the palate. For me, the fruit fades at the finish, and it finishes a touch bitter.

Typically NZ Pinot. ncredibly aromatic with almost a hint of juniper along with the cherry and strawberry. Slightly smoky and not spicy so the sweet fruit enhances the palate. Acidity is medium and in check and I like the slight austere nature overall to counter the sweetness. Good wine.

Bit disappointing, had hoped for better from this ex-Craggy Range winemaker in a (reportedly) near-perfect Martinborough vintage.
Colour dark fruits. Nose of ripe soft fruits, sweet alcohol, some intensity.
In the mouth it's medium-heavy body, smooth, rich, ripe, very easy to drink, but I expected more balance: there's a lack of acidity to balance all that lush 2013 fruit, it's a bit of a simple fruit bomb. There is a little herby/savoury impression, though. There is an irritating sweetness from high alcohol (plenty of 'legs' inside the glass), tannins are fine (not grippy). It finishes something near dry, thankfully. I won't be opening any of my remaining bottles until 2020, hopefully something better will have come of it by then.
VFM? Ok only.

Well balanced, richly flavoured mix of black cherry and raspberry fruit with pleasant acidity and fine grained tannins. Drinking well at the moment but likely to improve over the next 5 years. Very enjoyable.
