With FC and AW at Vivat Bacchus. No formal note, but showed crisp red cherry fruit, touch of smoke, herb and orange rind notes. Medium/full bodied, fresh and lively on the plalate, quite firm and youthful still but with good length and complexity. Excellent.

Ether and a hint of earth/mushroom on the nose. On the palate, sweet cherry, strawberry, and notes of orange peel, earth, and bitter tobacco on the medium to long finish, with strong tannins and good acidity. This was an excellent value at a little over $50.

I feel like recent Brunello isn’t as good as older vintages but just IMO. I feel 2010 & 2012 were the last best vintages. Newer vintages are too modern for me. As such I have scaled back my Brunello purchases.

Decanted 3 hours and drank over another hour. Super barnyard nose and barnyard taste. Was a bit tart originally. Wine came alive at 4 hours and gained weight & complexity. I still think Ucceliera was much better in early years. IMO
