N: Slightly closed; Ripe, plummy, with notable iron
P: Med, poss LM, body; Decent frt buttressed by EXCELLENT acidity which morphs into a LONG, slightly spicy finish with just a TOUCH of astringency on the VERY end.

N: Ripe, fairly complex melange of berries & blk olives, the latter being on top
P: MF body; NICE, almost swtsh frt balanced by acidity. Long, VERY slightly astringent finish. // Day 3: While the N shows SOME oxygenation, the P shows LOTS of richness, & the wine still drinks nicely.
Addendum: Also tasted on 5/21/17

Once chilled to an appropriate temperature at home it took on a completely different character and now I'm upset that I only bought one bottle. It's a Super Tuscan from Santa Barbara (yes, you read that right).
The nose is pretty explosive with ye fruit, coffee, milk chocolate, and baking spices and herbs. On the palate, the blue fruit really shines through but with the flavor texture of a brambleberry. Pretty lengthy finish.
It did a great job of standing up to my heavily spice-encrusted ribeye. And andouille sausage.

Perfectly fine pop and pour but not complex or interesting.

CS dominates nose; on palate, gentle tannins running through juicy berries working well into the cab tannins on finish
