  Pulled itself together in a nice way. Last bottle. Oak integrated and now a rather handsome Nebbiolo. Complexity is, of course, lacking a bit but standard traits of the grape are evident and pleasing. Perhaps a little more body than the 2016 PIRA Lange which itself is more elegant and suave. Think this Ratti could surf the cellar for another 5 years without losing pace. The vintage may play an important role here.

  Second to last one in my cellar. Compared to a Barolo (Borgogno) from 2008. What strikes me is that I find this wine better now than 5 months ago. Don't think much has happened in the cellar during that time. Now I can find some sous bois and there is some menthol in the nose. It is not complex. But it is well weighted and don't let the wine exceed 16 degrees Celsius - then it starts to taste and smell of vanilla which I don't like. There is an elegance in the nose which is volatile and temperature-dependant. Get it right and it smells like, for lack of better words, fresh printing paper. As a comparison the 2008 Barolo delivered a much more multi-layered experience and started showing some maturity which was very welcome.

Last time was not a memorable drink: nose developed into vanilla scented candles. Conclusion: uncork and enjoy and never let get warmer than 16 degrees C.

  Inledningsvis inbjudande men lite endimensionell doft av mörka plommon, svala körsbär, lite nagellack. Får jobba med glaset hel del för att få ut doften. Efterhand (temperatur?) dör denna bort och ersätts av obehagligare vaniljdoftljus. Lätt spritig och vassa syror utan några framträdande tanniner. Köttbullevin som testades mot Malvira Nebbiolo Langhe 2012 och befanns helt klart enklare till sin natur. Känns ungt. Kanske kan vinna på lagring.
