On the nose I would absolutely mistake this for an Italian. Balanced and lots going on. Fun to drink - surprisingly good. I think I have another bottle, which I'll probably hold for a couple of years.

Had at a Cameron tasting, notes from day 2. N currant jam, plums, mushrooms P black plums, black cherries, olive, smoke F above average in length and solid mouthfeel and decent acidity Overall this was much improved from the 2006 I had a few years back.

Crazy Cameron Tasting: Smells of dark plums, currant compote and some mushrooms. Structured but dusty tannins, prickly acidity, the balance is on point. Juicier fruit on the palate with some cherry to accent the dark plums. Loving the olive tapenade, brine, smoke and earth elements. Will surely improve in the cellar, but a beauty.

ESTG does Piemonte (West Seattle, WA, USA): Served blind. Jason absolutely nailed this as a New World wine. It was definitely bigger and riper with lots of fruit.

Last had this about three and a half years ago. It’s aging nicely. Has classic Nebbiolo notes and reminds me of a good Langhe Nebbiolo.
