flint, cranberry, hints of milk chocolate, gooseberry. nicely revealing the flavour layers. Medium weight palate finishes with smoked bacon, blood plum v.good wine, drink over next 5 years

Bright clear ruby with freshness petillance and thick pretty legs. Youthful, perfumed, fruit is just crushed, red and blue plum, supple raspberry and blackberry. A hint of marasca cherry. Peppery, very peppery with notes of garrigue, red earth, baking sweet spices. Palate is audacious, almost spritzy from youth, with acidity and tannins starting to blend, texture on the grippy side still but long, fresh supple finish. A keeper, a pleaser.

Canberra districts whistlestop tour (Canberra Districts): slightly oxidised, jubey cherry fruit, peppery spice. Cream. Juicy to the point of sourness. Not for me.

Canberra, Beechworth & Rutherglen wine tour day one (Canberra): black cherry and berry, spice, vanilla, polished French oak…in the mouth the wine is juicy, fresh, slightly tart, black cherry and peppery spice.
