This is a blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc. This is a significantly different bottle from that opened 19 months ago. The nose and attack show plum, cassis, and cedar, but also green bell pepper (distractingly so). The fruit is not nearly as lively, and I’m left wondering if this isn’t fading. As expected, the mouthfeel is more akin to a claret than a Bordeaux blend from the left coast, but nevertheless sufficient. Some chunks of sediment. 13.8% alc. With leftover grilled beef strip steak under mushrooms. 09.05.23. Recommended with Reservations.

This bordelaise style blend (64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc) doubly benefits from the vintage and the maker. Jeff White knows how to grow grapes and ferment good juice. A very well made wine that delivers plum, cassis, cedar, and a touch of smoke that lingers on the finish. The mouthfeel is perhaps a touch lighter, but still sufficient heft and satisfaction. A wine of celebration for a real reason to celebrate. Some slight pellets of sediment. 13.8% alc. With more cheeses and salumi as we celebrated the inauguration of Glenn Youngkin (watched a delayed recording). 01.15.22. Recommended.

A blend of 64% Cab, 14% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot, 4% Cab. Franc that is just now becoming approachable. The core is a rich with black cherry color. Loads of sweet plum and cassis, cherry, smoked herbs. This wine, like its older sister the ‘10, pairs so well with the smokiness of the burger. The wine is balanced and round; nice mouthfeel. Abundant plum and cassis on the attack; smoke and herbs and licorice on the finish. Some sediment. 13.8% alc. With Shack attack (beef) burgers (for PM coming home). Recommended.

64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 14% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc, sees mostly new French oak for 9 months, then transferred to used French oak for 13 months. Medium plus nose, floral, red and black fruit. Palate elegant, smooth medium plus tannins, notes of fresh plum, dried cinnamon.
350 cases made.

Nice balanced red blend. Glen manor does great wines in Va. End to end quality. This is a great wine to sip and a nice short finish.
