Spicy ripe but not overdone. A bit more structured than many of its peers. Some black cherry and spice notes on the palate. Well balanced, with decent tannins. COuld probably age 3-5 more years in proper storage.

40th Annual Zinfandel Retrospective - the 2013s (R&Ds): Blind. Red berry fruit aromas- not quite as exuberant as wine A at first, but very nice. The fruit comes on stronger as it sits. Subtle spice notes. Nice balance...the most "complete" wine in tonight's lineup.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Sue's): Double blind. I thought this had a touch of VA showing as I got a hint of something chemically, like nail polish remover. That became more odd the longer it sat- plastic Band-Aid notes then weedy and vegetal, like a wet, rotten bale of hay. Not pleasant. Spice and red fruit on the palate with rough tannins.

Reminds me of a Martinelli-style zin. Caramel. Port like. Not the jammy/spicy style of zin at all. Good execution for this style of zin, but not my favorite style these days.
