  • Cork in good shape, bricking almost orange color. Usual nose of dried flowers and dried fruits for these oldies. Body and tannins were soft, while the finish a tad short. After a few hours it improved a bit, especially with food, but this bottle does feel a little tired. Drink up.

  • Very impressive wine. Light cherry fruit with fully integrated tannins. The wine is still somewhat rustic in its appearance but in a good way. There is ample freshness and acidity and it is drinking very nicely right now. I prefer to enjoy this type of rustic Brunello when it still has some fruit left and it is just at a great place right now.

  • Medium tawny colour. Medium+ intensity aromas of cedar, tobacco leaf, cherries jam, very ripe dark plums, cinnamon.

It is dry in the mouth with a medium+ acidity. It has medium+ fine-grained tannins and a medium+ alcohol. It has a medium+ body and medium+ intensity flavours. The finish is long.

It is an outstanding quality wine. It has a very persistent finish and a taste concentration in balance with the alcohol, tannins and acidity. It also shows complexity provided by oak and bottle ageing.

  • Surprisingly, the wine still has some dark fruit left but it is starting to show some age. It seems a bit rustic which I have found before on this producer for the older bottles but it is really a charming wine.
A well kept bottle and showing a lot of character and a lovely acidity. Impressive.

  • This wine was tasted in single-blind fashion at Vintage Wines, Ltd. The theme of the tasting was Montalcino/Montepulciano/Umbria, and this particular bottle was generously provided by Tom Kaido. Deep garnet/amber in color, it shows a very intense, complex bouquet of ripe plums/prunes, tobacco, mocha and earth. Medium-bodied on the palate, with medium acidity, melted tannins and well-integrated alcohol. The flavors are in line with the nose and the middle is solid. Medium, slightly tart finish. This Lisini is drinking beautifully at this point. While it will not likely further improve, it should provide pleasure for at least another 2-3 years, assuming appropriately cellared. Drink now-12/14.
