Tastevinage (1975) label. Mature but lively appearance, not bricked through; the nose opens up well, lovely old Gamay character, not unlike a light and very harmonious old Pinot Noir, fruit of crushed strawberries, raspberries and mulberries, good depth, develops an overripe hint of banana; the palate is lively and firm, smooth and velvety, still has a good stuffing of fruit, thinning a bit of course but without signs of decay, juicy, medium weight; good length. Has stood the test of time. My first encounter with old Beaujolais and a very positive one at that.
