Still drinkable but now razor dry due to lack of acidity. What is left in the wine is earthiness, clunky oak and some mushroom. Disappointing as it should have coped with a 10 year ageing process in perfect cellaring conditions.

Wow, amazing nose: rich, intense, dark berry aromas, very attractive. Slightly soupy on the palate, despite good acidity. Little or no tannin. Screwcap, 14.5%.

a little bit dull nose. quite fruity, moderate ripe tannins, round, balanced, well mellowed even when it's young, delicate texture with fine and solid backbone.
a beautiful, pure, decent Central Otago, maybe need more complexity. will cellar another bottle more years to see.
Alc 14%, TA 5.8 g/L, pH 3.55

One of the rounder, less edgy Central Otago Pinot Noirs I've had over recent weeks of exploring several. Still a hint of the tautness and burn I'm starting to associate with the region, but it's very much in the background. Nice approachable fruit even at this early age, even better the next day from a re-screwed bottle (not pumped or gassed). Not the last word in complexity, but would be a great introduction to premium New Zealand Pinot Noir.

Pop and poured. Absolutely delicious palate showing an extended window is with the wait!
