  • On decant: Great mature red, towards bricks. On the nose hints of cloves, leaves and dark berries. Rich acidity, mouthwatering tannins. A long aftertaste, blackberries, tones of barrels (not vanilla).
    Really like this!
Edit: after 30 min: some menthol on the nose, a bit richer taste.
after two hours, some fruit has gone and the acidity is now more pronounced. Still nice but I think remaining bottles should not be kept any longer.

  • Well, I think Crowino has pretty much written correct tasting note. Maybe my bottle did not have 1 minute long aftertaste. But all in all, very decent and solid Plavac Mali rather on the mineral side with emphasized herbs, carob, mint and wet stones. But definitely worth 20 euros retail price. There are better bottles of Plavac Mali, but not many of them have such a QPR. Fantastically paired with beef shank stew (Boskarin https://hr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Istarsko_govedo). Drink now but can wait 2 years. Recommended.

  • Outstanding. My first try since the tasting. Rich stewed fruit on the nose, nice plump mid-palette, long lingering finish of light wood and a whisps of menthol. This stuff continues to develop in the bottle, I look forward to the next few years with this wine. Color still looks really good. Delicious. Now the techy tech: The wine has medium acidity. It smells like cool/menthol, red currant, gooseberry, eucalyptus, black currant (cassis) and fig. The body is full. The wine finishes long (really long, like minutes). It tastes like blackberry, pine, cool/menthol, eucalyptus, high toast, strawberry and bell pepper. The wine looks purple coloured, maybe a hint of bricking, but that's common with this grape, well before it matures. Don't panic.. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. The wine has coarse texture.
