Reduction was burying the goods for me here but fortunately it pulled through with air. Fleshed out into plump strawberries - silky and glossy. Gave lots of pleasure by night’s end. This just needs time and will be a beast with age.

Dinner with Some Young Domaine de la Romanée-Conti Romanée St. Vivant (State Street Manor - Chicago IL): From a bottle that had been opened the night before. So much here, but somewhat disjointed right now. Rich black and. Red cherry with impressive concentration, but still some protruding new oak. Tannins are also somewhat awkward, even if not coarse. This needs a few more years to harmonize, and I like its potential, 2025 forward. 92-93 point potential, but nowhere close to that today.

My third bottle. Very dark fruit, some pepper and spice. Brambly red fruit on the palate. Nice grip and present but enjoyable tannin one the finish. Very 2013.

Perfumed sweet nose of cherry, red fruits, and spices. Palate is energetic w/ filigree minerals, crunchy red fruits, lifting acidity, and mouth puckering finish. It is also textured and has a grand cru stuffing. Young, but ready for business.

Love the dark fruit, rhubarb and spice. Pretty tannic on the finish, even on day 2. Needs time.
