Maybe I was in a more foul mood, but this time the wine struck me as thin and a cheap party wine. It did somewhat resemble pinot noir. It could be that these are getting old as well.

This is a decent Pinot particularly at the $11 price point. Easy drinking. A lot of earth and a decent amount of fruit/berries. Went well with an Asian stir fry beef dish.

86: Bright, clear garnet color. Served slightly chilled on a hot summer evening, which allowed the wine to beautifully evolve as the meal progressed. Slightly tart red cherry opened up to earthier flavors and just a hint of smoky spice. Paired nicely with a slow-cooked pork loin.

Translucent garnet hint of brown at the edges, nose is restrained, palate has tart red berries, cherry, firm tannins, pleasant acidity and a hint of wood. Nice value wine.

For $7 it is hard to complain. This does taste like pinot noir, and is a bit spicy. Simple and easy drinking.
