this had a lot of the classic meursault minerality going on and nothing in the way, only acompanying beautifully; acid, heat, structure, fruit all in harmony.
really all you can ask for from the region and at this price point.

HDH auction tasting at Tru (Chicago, IL): This shows an incredible amount of oak and alcohol today, as well as a fair bit of that racy 2013 acidity. But the problem is that the oak and alcohol is just overpowering.

HDH auction tasting at Tru (Chicago, IL): The nose shows some beeswax, as well as some waxy yellow fruit. Surprisingly ripe, with a fair bit of oak use here. The palate has some serious acidity, and the oak use is definitely on the heavy side. A bit heavier, but quite good. Not particularly reductive, this seems to hearken back to the older style of white Burgundy -- fingers crossed about the pox.

HDH Burgundy Auction; 4/1/2016-4/2/2016 (Chicago, IL): Very nice, bright, white-fruited nose, with a moderate dose of oak on the nose. The palate has a nice waxy texture, but the oak does poke through a little bit. Lots of density, and a richness that seems to indicate a fair bit of malo. Lovely acidity to keep things together, but I'd have to say this isn't exactly my style of chardonnay.

Wines Tasted at HDH Auction; 4/1/2016-4/2/2016 (Tru Restaurant - Chicago IL): Lots of aplle with floral notes that are good overall, but the minerality and General textures are the highlight here. Good now.
