Aged nose, with gentle notes of dry leaves, cinnamon, and chocolate. Medium-bodied, well-balanced palate, with fine tannins, bright acidity, and a hint of astringency. Flavours of blackcurrant, bay leaf, and cocoa.

Based on previous reviews, we were surprised how much we liked this wine. We are drinking at 18 months later than the last review, so that may have had something to do with it.
We found the wine to be pretty full bodied, with notes of vanilla, oak, and muddled berries. It seems to be nicely in balance. Tannins were very smooth. Overall we were very very pleased, particularly for the price point.

NobleRottersSydney - Pinot & Merlot (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): { cork, 13.5%} (Stephen) Developing aromas of sweet raspberries and vanilla. A bit commercial and obvious-smelling. The palate is vanillan and simple, although not unpleasant. It seems to have lost a little in freshness without developing real complexity; there’s little acid evident and the tannins are pretty low-key too, even if there are elements of oak in the vanilla flavours. Short finish too. Not competitively priced in this country.

Really like the nose, but the palate doesn't followe through. There's true merlot character here, but some unusual flavors over that which detract from the wine. Interesting, but not great.

One-dimensional. Raspberry, toast. Nice wine, but nothing special.
