  Dark, saturated ruby robe. Kirsch, red berry, pepper, vanilla, and herb bouquet. Long and mouthfilling. To me, the concentration of this wine surprised me. The tannins, which come in part from a fairly prominent oak treatment take nearly an hour to resolve. Very enjoyable but will clearly last and evolve for several more years. There is an underlying simplicity to the fruit that I would associate with a simple Bourgogne rouge but this wine is intense and crafted. Quite enjoyable.

  Groffier 2013 Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Bright red cherry aromas and flavors with lots of energy that gives it a lean, classic style. Better in a year or two, but not much beyond 2020. Very good for its level.

  (Had at Barsac wine bar, Gothenburg)
  
  The wine has a pale intensity, ruby color.
  
  Youthful nose with a medium intensity. Aromas of strawberry, dark cherry, cranberry, rhubarb, nutmeg, moist forest floor and a hint of oak.
  
  Dry on the palate with a medium(+) acidity, medium body and really smooth, medium, tannins. Medium(+) intensity with flavors of strawberry, cranberry, wild raspberry, nutmeg, spice box, forest floor and a hint of tobacco. The finish is medium(+).
  
  This was my first time tasting anything from Groffier and I must say that I'm really impressed with this wine. Lots of classy Pinosity with an intensity and silkiness I rarely find at generic AC. Very young but damn good today but will definitely get even better with some aging.
