Compared to the prior bottle this one was much more rewarding, with red and zesty fruit, some nice spice undertones and a fresh feel through the midpalate to finish. Mix of red raspberries and lively kiwi as well as some red pepper spice on the follow through. I don't think it will last long as the tannins are so well melded and there's barely any acidity. A good quaffer with pizza or pasta.

This is an ideal wine to convince a snobby enophile that Zinfandel is a respectable grape that can demonstrate power, depth and elegance simultaneously. The nose offers clean aromas of slate rock, upper notes of dried garden herbs, dill, almonds, hints of butterscotch, red fruit, and blue raspberry cotton candy. The palate is remarkably balanced, the tannins are understated, yet provide just enough structure to carry this wine through for a medium-plus finish.

Decanted for 35 mins. Overripe jammy red and blue fruits, excessive oak. Out of balance and unremarkable/ crowd pleasing. Not typical of a Zin. PASS!

Tasting somewhat dry and thin. Tannins still pretty rugged.
