Developing nose showing dried cherry, raisins, medicinal herbs (more specific Fernet Branca!), leather, dried porcini, oak, dark chocolate and sweetened coffee.
Rich and ripe mouthfeel with smooth tannins, medium acidity and kind of full body for a Nebbiolo. Raisin, cherries in liquor, worn leather, sweetened coffee and vanilla. Great concentration to the flavors and the finish is long with a little too much of warmth from the alcohol.
For me this wine is flabby and lacks freshness and structure. Probably a vintage related problem but the winemaking here doesn't help either. Drink sooner than later imo.

Light in color and on the nose; traditional clay brick color and aromas of light red cherry, tar and maybe some roses. Large in the mouth with less fruit, but higher acidity and tannins; leather, earth, minerality and a long finish. Opened this and a Barbaresco with homemade pizza. The barbaresco was a nice light accompaniment, this was a powerful pairing and it was hard to go back to the barbaresco when it was all gone. Nice wine!
