  Easy drinking on this warm day - deep plum color; big, red berry aromas; med. body, flavors of red & purple berries, well balanced, barely any tannins. Long, fruity finish.

  Fruity, spicy, and all too gulpable - this wine certainly lived up to my expectations. Quite a contast from the nebbiolo based Piedmont royalty (and an excellent combination with my tasty thin crust prosciutto pizza)! Though dolcetto is apparently oft compared to Beajoulais it is definitely not the same - the red fruit is certainly there, but along side it is a wealth of earth and pepper/spice that you wouldn't find in a gamay based wine. This particular bottle was not overly complex; fortunately, that was exactly what I was looking for in this case. I'll be looking to have another bottle of this sometime soon, though I may seek out another producer for a comparison.

  Fruit forward. Smooth finish, avoids harsh finish I find common in many dolcetto's.
