Orange garnet. The cork was sunken, ugly mold-crusted, and falling apart, but exited largely intact. The maderized nose lasted throughout dinner, but the palate noticeably evolved, from thin and candied to proper Rioja, just rather old, weak black fruits, savory smoke and tar. I wouldn't buy this again, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy drinking it meanwhile.
Second day, the modernization has morphed towards sweet dark fruit, suggesting extended decanting.

From memory, loose but intact cork seems to have done its job, dark and darkly fruity, very slightly maderized but otherwise sound and typical.

Tertiary nose, sweet and woody. Very light bodied with a faint core of red cherry. Quite nice.
