In the bouquet forest floor, herbs and spices, chocolate and balsamic impressions. On the palate herbs and spices, red and dark berries, chocolate, a bit rustic, good medium acidity and slightly sticky tannin. There is some development, but the wine is still in its youthful stage. Beautiful wine.

Some research reveals that this is Sangio and sees new barrique. It is a rather rich wine. Streamlined red to dark fruit, very direct and with a luxurious, velour-like mouthfeel. Not velvet but velour. Melted liquorice notes. This is clearly modern and appeals to an international palate, but still has some degree of being in check and isn't too bad on the spoof spectrum. Turns out I was quite near this winery, near San Gimignano, four months ago. Edgemont guys, my place.
