  • Served double blind. I immediately get honey and orange blossoms, and it makes me think of Baumard. Chenin blanc? Yes. This is flat out terrific, quite sweet but showing some of that mellow aged character as well. Plenty of acid and a somewhat bitter, medicinal note on the finish keeps this real. With air, florals and a soapy note come out. There's plenty of acidity to spare and this hold up open for 2 days just fine. More of a dessert wine in my book, but a really good one. 92-93 pts.

  • Excellent; mature and fascinating. Pours a deep amber-gold, shimmering and clear. At first this has people in Gemany/Riesling, but with some time in the glass, the slight petrol character gives way to more saline, quince, orange blossom and stone fruit qualities - on the nose, and very full, well-lifted palate. This is Spatlese/Auslese sweetness at this point in its evolution. There's a lot of complexity here, and beauty can be found in a seemingly endless supply of layers - on the nose and palate. 13,5% abv. drink thru 2023, at least. highly recommended

Audozed 3 hours; cork and fill were in great condition.
