Weekly tasting group #069; A fully blind test. (@ WW): Almost black color. The luxurious bouquet shows oak and a lot of sweetness. On the palate eucalyptus, sweet spices, ripe dark fruits, a lot of sweetness and also good acidity as well as silky soft tannin. The wine reminded me of some Greenock Creek wines and the Hill of Grace. After it was revealed we saw the label showed 17.5% alcohol. It was concentrated and heavy alright, but a this high alcohol percentage did not really show. A truly impressive wine! Ready now and the next 5+ years.

A surprise tasting with Dan Philips and Chris Ringland (Seattle, WA, USA): WOWZA! This was the clear wine of the tasting for me and an easy 95+ points, probably a bit higher. Jet black. The nose is spicy with a hint of eucalyptus. The palate elicits another WOW and a head shake. Remarkably intense with laser focus yet also showing great depth. The personality of the wine is black and brooding, extremely tight right now yet awesomely powerful and balanced. This is unreal wine!
