Bought on release towards the beginning of our wine journey when $58/per seemed like an almost ridiculous extravagance. It felt revelatory at the time but we’ve been worried our tastes had changed in the intervening years. On first sniff our fears were laid to rest. Incredibly perfumed bouquet of savory olive, violets, and red plum explode from the glass, and on the palate these flavors continue with a more medium bodied and mineral-driven mouthfeel than you often get from WA wine. Alcohol is imperceptible and a spine of acid and almost-fully-resolved tannins bolster the savory and ripe fruit flavors. I feel like we hit this at exactly the perfect time and am glad it lived up. Lower octane than wines like Cayuse et al, but more complex and savory than your average purple-flavored Columbia Valley Syrah.

Really changed since last tasting. Lush fruit has subsided and tobacco coming up. The palate has notes of anise, black fruit, and tobacco. The finish is well structured and has lots of life left.

A drop-dead gorgeous, peppery, earthy, gamey, meaty, peaty, funky, and herbaceous offering that belongs in the top-tier category of Washington Syrahs. Delicious and a solid value. 93-94.
