Few wines out there could put a smile on my face like this. Juicy and floral with orange blossom, nectarine, and golden plum notes. super aromatic and almost waxy. A totally cool wine and perfect for summer!

7% Solution, SF 2015 (SF): Muscat Canelli, a bit of Friulano for structure, and a touch of Cortese. Nearly clear in the glass. Very light straw. N: Nice fruity terpenes. Fresh, almost frozen lychees. High-toned terpenes. Thiols are there but secondary. P: Some phenolic bitterness that the nose foreshadowed. Light, structured, good acidity, has bitterness. Alcohol is in control. I like this. This is good. Nicely-balanced light-style wine with big aromatics. Between 8.5 and 9

This is yet another beautiful wine from Sam Bilbro at Idlewild. The aromatics are just off the charts, with lots of floral and spicy citrus & tropical fruit. People at the party kept asking "what is this, it smells so beautiful", and I just kept going back and smelling the wine. On the palate the citrus fruit takes over, with the spice moving to the back of the palate where it plays off an almost salty element in the finish. The 60% Muscat Canelli certainly dominates this wine right now, and I doubt I will have the patience to see if it changes over time to let the Friulano or Cortese shine through. Fantastic summer wine!
