N.....pineapple with lemon juice drizzle; zilch else
T....more intense than last week's bottle of same wine/same vintage; lots of charm; white yellow fruits; some minerals that didn't seem to be here in previous bottle; stewed quince; furry tannins; almost dry at the end. Kinda' 'Euro' for a NZ chenin; if it had a downside I'd say maybe not enough acid, maybe better to drink at 4 yrs old, not 6.
VFM? their Te Arai Vineyard Chenin Blanc is much cheaper (£18) and a v good wine, so this £30 single-site hillside wine perhaps not a bargain, though a classy wine all the same; makes their cheaper Chenin Te Arai look an outstanding bargain.
Buy again?....Maybe; if I do it'll be in reportedly-good years only, and I'd drink it younger at 3-4 yrs old.

Excellent Chenin Blanc. A fraction tight straight form cellar but got better and better as it came ot room temperature. Nice mouth coating feel and just the right amount of fresh acidity.

Monthly Tasting Group HWS #108; Chenin Blanc Worldwide (By SB): In the bouquet yellow fruits like banana, honey and some vanilla? On the palate a slightly sparkling start. Green apples, firm citrus, pineapple, some nuts, oak and grapefruit acidity and bitterness in the finish. Concentrated wine.

Lots of brioche and toasted nutty notes. A nice acidity in the background. Interesting.
