Traditional Barolo from monopole Vigna Meranda (Sarmassa). 2500 l. old barrels, extended maceration (around 60 days). It is quite developed, actually. A brown/orange edge in the glass.
Aromas of sour cherries, eucalyptus, a little orange. On the palate, there’s also chocolate and coffee - like the bitter notes come forward. High acidity and quite powerful. Not that much fruit, more forest floor.

Distinct age signs w. light brownish and watery edge. Tertiary bouquet. Dry, med(+) tannin, med acid, med+ intensity and alc. Quite dense and good length. A bit chemical. The bitterness carries it out.
Keep (soon drink).
My notes: Acetone, marzipan, "grandpa's chair", herbs, bitter orange,s age, bitter chocolate and coffee.

One of my last bottles from one of my first cases of wine.
Nose: Classic nose - leather, tobacco, forest floor, cherries, a little dried fruit, menthol, and a little orange zest. Quite ethereal.
Palate: Still present tannins and acidity but both very well integrated. Savoury and quite complex palate with notes of licorice and black cherries as well.
Served with Wagyu ribeye and black garlic, the wine delivered very well.

Søde røde bær, bløde tanniner og en elegance kunne anes under fejlen. Jeg er ikke i tvivl at dette kunne havde været en rigtig god vin, men den var desværre ikke drikkelig, æv.

Plum, cherries, and some menthol. Fine tannins in a nice nebbiolo bite. Dry, elegant, and fine with food but hopefully able to develop more complexity with age. Nice wine.
