Dark black cherry color to the rim of the glass. Lovely supple and elegant mouthfeel with a presence of lively, but not overtly drying tannins. The rounded and grape-skin derived flavors are blended into an indescribable amalgam of fruit, as a soft conversation of the five players, complementary yet not overpowering one another. There is also a bonus of citrus, orange peel, but not any of the aforementioned green pepper experienced by earlier contributors. Our expectations were realized as the sweet Alexander Valley fruit is prominent and the complexity is in the palate of the individual beholder. We thankfully look forward to having this beauty with grilled beef tips tonight, and we will toast to our sadly missed friend and mentor Nick Koengetter, who we loved and who owned the wine shop we so much loved to frequent. Thank you Nick.

A bit disappointing. Nothing wrong with this wine but I think it should have much more complexity. Primary delicious dark fruit, good acidic structure, and that's about it.

Tresor is the top red wine made by Ferrari-Carano, and this 17 year Bordeaux blend from Alexander Valley in Sonoma County is in great shape. Opaque black to the edge with an aromatically refreshing blackberry, black plum, and black cherry. The sip is well integrated and seamless, with upfront rounded tannin and acidity on top of a juicy undertow of fruit. The swallow adds a spike of acid and drying tannin that finishes clean, clear, and long. The fact that the wine was kept open for 3 days with no deterioration demonstrates that remaining bottles can be fully enjoyed for years more. My mouth waters just thinking about drinking our last 4 bottles.

Disappointed in this one. Had received via wine club after visiting the winery and really loving the Tresor. Spicy with little fruit and a bit flat on finish. Not very well structured although could be past prime.
