Golden bright. Plump ripe aged fruits, tending tropical. Soft, pulpy, fully opened up, in fact quite broad. Not a lot of acidity, dry finish, lean in terms of fruit. Clearly aged, but no sign of any old kerosene characters, quite pure and fruity still. As a young wine this was magnificent and never showed development, doubt it ever will. Now sailing off into the sunset losing its intensity. Still a pleasant drink.

Has taken on a gentle orange hue. Soft marmalade and honeysuckle. Plump ripe tropical fruits. This has aged gracefully. No sign of oxidation, but the flavours are muted and clearly faded. Has a pleasing core of ripe citrus and stone fruits. On the finish there is gentle acid and long clean flavours of oranges, honey and lemons. Drinks nicely but it's time has passed.

A little awkward for a riesling. Very green and herbaceaous - more like a savignon blanc. No sweetness at all. 3/00
