  • Holding up well at 10 years, more acidic flavors from earlier openings have mellowed, but still bright and a great pairing with duck breast and cherry sauce. Better paired than drunk by itself.

  • Medium burgundy significantly lighter near the rim. Cherry, cocoa, baking spices, but the nose leans more toward savory than sweet. Fairly well-balanced, slightly tart with a medium long finish. Pretty good and definitely not over done it all. Good to very good QPR.

  • Still love it. Sweet wild red cherry, cassis, rhubarb, dark earthiness and plenty of acid and minerality. So much going on. I admit this wine appeals to my very geeky side but no apologies, though lovers of traditional California Pinot Noir may be disappointed or perplexed. Still drinking well now and I wish I had more. Just 1 bottle left.

  • Given Foggy Pinot's tasting note, I was curious if I missed something, but my latest tasting reaffirms my earlier tasting note (reproduced below). Not a modern, extracted style of California PN, I have had good luck and enjoy this producer's pinots and its rose:

"Medium ruby color; classic Pinot nose, floral cherry, but earthier than most California PNs. Bright red but subdued fruit; sour cherry candy and barely ripe strawberry; a touch of menthol, and again an Old World earthy element. An elegant and unique cool coastal PN. 13.8% abv. I think it is drinking well now and should be consumed over the next few years."
