Similar to my notes of four months ago. Dark red fruit on the nose, the palate was dark cherry, red plum, chocolate, coffee and some spice. The finish was moderate to long. Served alongside an platter of chicken alfredo (keto style).

Drinking nicely at 10 years of age. Dark red fruit on the nose, the palate was dark cherry, red plum, chocolate, coffee and some herbs. The finish was moderate to long. Served alongside an oven roasted salmon but it really shined when we finished the bottle with the cheese course.

Score reflect the wine after 6 hour decant as this is very young and rough upon opening. Serious Napa merlot that has big structure and fruit. Normal chocolate and oak notes. Long finish. Right now the star is the fruit as it is not yet balanced or overly complex

Poured a very dark purple. Somewhat reticent nose due to its youth, but was able to coax out some medicinal cherry, coffee grounds, dark berries, and black pepper. Medium on the palate with slight burn. A good quality Merlot, but it needs further bottle age.

A rich and savory Merlot that still needs a year or two in order to unwind what is currently a tightly coiled and dense package. Dark burgundy in color, medium in body, nose of blueberry, gravel, and spices. Dense and dark fruit tastes of boysenberry, blackberry, graphite, and cedar, with a still tannic finish. 14.9% alcohol. I preferred the 2012, which seemed to have more fruit and be a bit more fun, but this one just might need more time. Same on second day.
