  • Drank during SB last week/Notes from memory. Dark greenish/gold in color, wine looks older than it is. Nose exudes butter and perhaps a bit of smoke. Lots of minerality on the palate, lemon citrus, notes of eucalyptus. Good length and was time to go. My final bottle.

  • Unfortunately my last bottle of this and a great reminder why it sometimes pays off to keep white Burgundy for a little longer, even if Premox is still a certain risk. Beautiful healthy yellow, greenish color with just a hint of golden. This is exploding in the nose with notes of sweet spices, smoke, minerality and also a touch of buttery notes before turning more tamed but also more classy with some air. This seems all cool vintage. Layered and pretty complex, with notes of lemon oil, saline wet stone minerality, also some lime, steel, a touch of mint and herbal notes, also some white pepper and a touch of white flowers. It‘s medium+ bodied, but with excellent persistence, has high acidity adding precision and freshness. Long finish with quite some complexity. A beautifully aged and layered Champs-Gain that will still have a few more good years.

  • Back to old form... might have been my last bottle from a case of 12 and drinking at peak, still with good freshness and minerality, and the oak that seemed a bit rich in its youth has also been pretty well integrated. Nevertheless would drink over the next few years.

  • 2+ hours of air in bottle. Drank in Gabriel Standart.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium intensity, with aromas of wet stones minerality, salinity, light toast oak, citrus lemon oil, lemon-lime, hint of butter and white floral. Developing.
On the palate, dry, zippy yet balanced high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of salty wet saline stones minerals, citrus lemon oil, lemon-lime, green apple, cream peach, bits of buttered toast and hint of pineapple. Long finish.
Very good quality. Complex, great acidity, and good balance for me. Ticks the box adequately for minerality too. I like it when there is that mix of greenish fruit with riper citrus fruit. With air, already nicely in drinking window. Should drink well over the next 4 years also.

  • Medium lemon Color. Lots of butter and smoke on the nose, mineral and wet stones, peach, Apple, mandarines. Medium acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium- finish, medium- flavor intensity. Structure is not great - something not fully in balance here. Nose is better than the mouth. Still young so might develop into sth better.
