Nice package. 40% ABV. The rum was transparent dark amber in colour and offered molasses, raisins, mushroom, caramel and some chocolate as well as hints of orange peel, sherry, leather, shoe polish, spices and gingerbread on the nose, after a few days complemented by a cola note. On the palate the rum showed molasses, orange, raisins, chocolate, nuts, mushroom and caramel flavours as well as hints of tobacco, gingerbread, spices and clove, with warming alcohol and incredible length. This medium- to full-bodied, sweet, rich, pleasant rum was well-balanced, with good concentration and complexity, and drank well. Nice. Body 7.5/10, Smoke 1.5/10, Sweetness 7,5/10.

This is the only time I've ever rated anything 100 points. This rum is a metaphor for perfection. Beautiful bouquets of caramel and sweetness (don't know or care if we're talking about sugar or molasses). I've never had any spirits this incredibly smooooooooooth and rich. There is warmth, but no fire to it. I've had cognacs which approach this richness, but don't quite get there. And, I haven't even started to describe the finish. Let's say that it was so long, that my hair turned gray(er) waiting for it to end. Yes, it's expensive, but for the quality, the QPR is tremendous!

Certainly the perfect rum drink. Hard to believe it can be so refined.
