Fruit forward nose upon opening, but then oddly morphed into a more funky nose with interesting spices, and strangely enough - sauerkraut. The taste was very smooth, much more like a Sonoma Pinot than a traditional Burg.

Got a taste for something light and earthy, and red tonight, so I did what I typically fear doing...I walked down the Burgundy isle. I had a price point in mind, so as I slowly perused each bottle, I would check into CT (I LOVE THIS SITE!) to see what others here thought. Based on previous notes, this fit both the description of what I wanted, the price, and what I could only hope to be the relative quality. Popped and poured but drank over about 5 hours. Initially, the nose was chalked full of sauteed mushrooms and damp earth, with ripe plums and some cherry underneath. As it took the air the mushrooms took a back seat to the lovely ripe fruits, soft flowers and eucalyptus. As a previous taster notes, I found some stewed raisins on the initial taste, but this blew off with air as well. This left nothing but a really balanced and enjoyable mix of ripe red fruits, plums, earth and eucalyptus leaves into the long finish. At $28 this is a steal of a burgundy in my opinion and it exceeded my expectations.

Very nice burgundian barnyard earthy nose with pleasant herbaceous cherries and strawberry very balanced and decent finish... Very enjoyable particularly for the price..

Light clear ruby. Initially very nice mushroom component which blew off to leave light cherry and leaves on the nose. Nice light mouthfeel, mainly cherry. Fairly low acid and decent finish. Unfortunately this wine has some stewed raisony flavors which I didn't enjoy. This felt a bit tired, though not sure if storage was ideal, or if the wine is on its way down.
