Lovely garnet wine. Dry and light initially on the palate. It slowly opened up with time, but this wine does not have a lot of structure. Disappointing for the price. Not a terrible wine, but low PQR. Would not buy again.

This is a really nice wine, the merlot is screaming through with a bit of menthol, chocolate and cold dirt. The nose was quite flowery, but overall this wine had 1 speed once it opened up (20 minutes in glass) and was very nice with Chicken Karagge, Ebi Mayo Shrimp, beef and rice as well as other heavy Japanese fusion food.
This wine is safe and easy but is soooooooooooooooooo overpriced for something so basic. But alas, that is the horrible BC wine market and the ridiculous protectionism that BC wineries get.

Tightly wound and lacking intrigue – disappointing, though perhaps not altogether surprisingly so. Producers in the Okanagan have long been caught up with attempting vintage after vintage of unsuitable varietals for the climate - namely Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot - and in many cases these find their way into so called ‘premium’ blends that amount to nothing more than somewhat unripe fruit masked by less-than-judicious use of new oak. This bottle was young, for sure, and so there’s always the potential for development especially given how buttoned up it was. However, even the elements that did show though failed to excite the senses – this coming from two attempts by Coravin earlier in the year, and a final opening that included 2 days and 6 hours of decant time. The wine did provide red/black currant, blackberry, sweet spice, and gravel/cigar, but all of this was overshadowed by a strong toasty vanilla/biscuit sense. The palate showed more by way of herbs and spices, with mint, fennel, sage, and anise all making appearances. Unfortunately, it could never fully get away from an ever present green pepper note. Robust tannins and surprisingly high acid did give the wine a strong structure, so maybe somewhere down the road this wine could prove me wrong. For the time being, however, it seems like really poor QPR here through an attempt to do something that just doesn’t make sense in the region.

Kept this one a little long. Slight oxidation and the fruit has faded a bit but still elegant
