A new, eye-catching label as part of their ‘distinction’ class – a step up from their Collector series, I think. (Are you taking notes, Lake Breeze?)
The blend takes me to the Right bank – yes, a fresh Saint-Em. Faint dried herbal & red fruit aromas are there...but the oak here is almost overpowering.
The palate is rich & widens these aromas…adding a touch of coffee & caramel to the medium finish. Hard to ignore the wood though...
Tannins are fine & youthful…but nothing cellar time can’t sort out, right?

Without any heft, it’s awash against substance. But hey…it is coming around!
The nose is immediately appealing now with a little hint of smoke, cocoa, baking spice & earthiness.
The merlot has deepened but the Syrah is still young. Expect thin layers of sour cherry, blueberry, blackberry, & fresh plums on the plate.
A little tight at this moment. Could sit for 5 years…but it IS getting better, I swear it.
