Lovers of aged Hunter Valley Semillon will appreciate this wine, which is in a great place but still has lots of development ahead of it. Colour is mid gold, with that 'bright lights' clarity that semillon most always has. The nose is classic Hunter - fresh, citrus, a touch of herbal grassy edge, the beginnings of toastiness and clean as a whistle. Mine started a bit too cold, but as it warmed up in the glass, the mid palate flavour kept expanding, whilst always maintaining a tight line, and the acidity at the moment sets the wine off beautifully. Served with pan fried flathead and fresh lemon - it was a great match. Kept some until the next evening and if anything, it was even better for the airing. Probably right in the zone if you aren't prepared to risk longer ageing, but I'll be keeping my two remaining bottles another 5 years. Screw cap, 11.0%

We had this on Melbourne Cup day with fresh king prawns. Perfect match. Lemony, fresh as a daisy, excellent balance, beautiful. Plus one of us had a lazy $20 on the winner. Win, win!

Beautiful Hunter Sem, balanced, still youthful colour but starting to fill out on the palate, lemony acid, softening now, balanced and totally delicious

Starting to show age. A touch soft perhaps and relatively simple but food friendly and definitely interesting.

Surprisingly forward. Quite delicious, if a bit soft and not hugely complex.
Enjoy now.
