  • Smells like bedrock! Sun drenched dark loam, black cherry/bramble fruit, and some high toned citrus. In the mouth, Not fruit forward at all, instead expressing some minerally, earthy-funky, dried herb, and rhubarb-floral flavors. A bit of zin berry on the finish, but otherwise could be mistaken for an old school CdP (of the Mourvèdre driven variety). Fairly structured and savory, with some pretty rustic tannins. 39% Carignane, 39% Zinfandel, and 22% Mourvèdre. If I had more bottles, I’d probably wait another 2-3 years before trying again. 90

Day 2: this has picked up steam - more generous nose, and a new brightness on the palate. Still dark funk and tannic, but a seam of delineated red fruit also emerges, along with a more fleshed out frame. Likely has another 3-5 years before hitting a plateau, and will drink well for another 5-10 after that. 92

  • Carignan, mouvedre and Zinfandel from the bedrock vineyard. Brighter and fresh fruit of the Dashe set, with more structure and power on the back. Just opened. Again, classy stuff here. Dark with some very robust mourvedre grip.

  • Wines At Our Table; Week of August 9th 2015; 8/3/2015-8/9/2015: Garnet color with pretty black cherry, spice, dark chocolate and licorice aromas. On the palate it's medium-bodied with a very appealing texture and firm well integrated tannins with black cherry, raspberry, mixed peppery and sweet spice flavors and a medium long finish. 98 % Zinfandel; 2% Petite Sirah Approachable now but will easily age 5-7 years
