The nose tonight was fairly rustic and sauvage, redolent with dark fruit and green, brambly, dry underbrush. The sauvage characteristics carried thru to the palate with rich black cherry, sous bois, Asian spice notes and abit of tobacco. The tannins on the med to long finish were still firm and chewy. There's good depth and concentration here in a format that's quite rustic and masculine. Needs lots of air.

Mixed grand cru red Burgundies (AuZone, Stockholm): Light to medium red, some brick. Nose with cherries and ripe strawberries, rather noticeable spice, some oak, just a hint of flowers and a hint of vanilla, some animal notes. Palate with cherries, some strawberries, a bit more than medium concentration, spice, rather noticeable medium+ tannins, rather good acidity, slightly tough aftertaste with cranberries and tannins. Rather powerful, but comes across as slightly overoaked. Could probably gain from more cellaring. 89 p.

Full bodied, rich dark and red fruit with deep earthy undertones, some tobacco notes and firm chalky tannins. Quite nice and needed about 3 hours of air to open.

Earthy and mature at this stage, dark and quite linear.

Not very complex or fruity. But - I did not really decant it, so that could be key to a better next bottle, or it was just a bad one.
