In a great spot. Inky black in color yet not as teeth staining as the color would suggest. Bursting with flavor and fun after a short decant, hard to believe this is 10 yrs old. Strong aromas of kirsch. Primary flavors of licorice, blackberry,

Really good and similar to my last bottle. Tastes like a hypothetical mix of petite sirah, zin, and syrah. Big fruit and crazy dark color but almost a medium bodied frame which surprises you based on how the wine looks in the glass. Fun wine and scratches the itch when I want a Carlisle but something a little different.

Beautiful, hugely aromatic, full of brooding black fruit flavors, with an amazing ripeness to it, yet balanced and energetic. It has a certain "Portuguese or Italian quality" to it ... really nice. This could probably hold and evolve another 5+ years.

I was in the mood for a Carlisle but something a little different, and since I've been wanting to check in on these, it felt like the perfect time. As expected, I really liked it! Dark/glass-staining purple in color and throwing a ton of fine sediment. On the palate this is delicious, and almost like a hypothetical blend of Zinfandel (blue fruits and a bit of spice) Syrah, and Petite Sirah (slightly savory/herbal and black fruit). Everything is really well integrated right now and while it's definitley not a 'light' wine, its very well balanced by the acidity. Really fun bottle that's in a great spot but might even have a little upside still. Drink now or hold - you can't go wrong either way :)
