Medium body, bright garnet red color. Attractively aromatic, wild berries, floral and oak notes aroma. Currants and cherry on the palate, black olives on medium long finish. Juicy and easy, silky texture, complex and well balanced, fresh berries acidity, tannic now. Best match is meat dishes (stew veal) or not sharp cheeses (Sao Jorge, Pecorino Toscano, Emmental/Maasdam or Gouda). Open at least 6 hour in advance. Serve 18º - 22º. Still young, drink next year, about three years, perhaps more.

Gentle nose with aromas of blackberries, black cherries, forest floor, smokey notes and hints of violets. It is light and velvey in the mouth with a juicy concentration. It is armonious and fruity with a persistent finish.

My first reaction was to remark how similar this was to the Niepoort Fabelhaft Douro which we drank on Sunday; just a bit fuller and more refined. The production region is different but there is probably considerable overlap in the grape varieties used. I have lifted my description of the Fabelhaft with only a few word changes. Colour fairly dense and body medium/full but immediately the aromas on the nose captivated showing lively red fruit, red currant especially, with a porty edge, spice and minerals. The lively fruity palate developed the aromas from nose with fresh mouth-watering acidity, gritty minerals and peppery spice finishing off with a quite saline backbone. Very good.

Dark fruits, some cedar on the nose. Dark cherries and pepper. "Hard", stony, light-medium body, very fine tannins.
