Now this is a big boy Oregon pinot. In many ways, more like a Napa pinot of some sort except carrying more acidity.... Very large (14.9%), though just a tiny bit of heat on the end. Other than the alcohol level, very well balanced and certainly delicious. Does not come across as overly extracted or ripe. Very well liked at the table. No question I prefer more 'traditional' Oregon styles (say Thomas, or Cameron), but the quality here was extremely high and no question this is a good, nearly outstanding, if atypical, pinot.

Bright dark brambly berry fruits with a stout structure. Still seems young, even after a good decant. Good acidity and substantial very fine tannins. Tasty now with a good decant, but likely better in a year or two. Very nice.

Orange peel, espresso, bramble. Savory dark red fruit. Masculine and a bit wild.
Needs time to open. Drank well after an hour, especially with typical pinot pairing food (pork tenderloin, roast onions, butter, mustard).
Nearly 18 hours later and it was still drinking wonderfully -- didn't seem to lose any power or depth. Ideal just above cellar temp / just below room temp.

From barrel; 100% Dijon 777. Rich and dark, heavy fruit with dark aromatics, the heaviest of the Shea lineup. A long-ager.
