Definitely feel the dusty dryness of the ripasso pressings. Big cherry nose and palate. Dark, but not as opaque as you might expect. Remarkable mouth coating secondary flavors of red licorice, red pop, lanolin, cotton candy and mild cinnamon. Only a little more than medium bodied. Typical Italian job with the correct balancing acid. By the finish more dark fruit like blackberry and plum appear. The dusty dryness really dissipates with time in the glass, and by the next day this wine becomes much more smooth and complete with the tannins and some deep cherry fruit.
