Pure Merlot, decanted for two hours. Dark purple in the glass, complex, elegant aroma of black cherry, ripe plum, chocolate, elderberry. Black cherry again on the palate, also blackcurrant, herbs de Provence, creamy, slightly peppery, carried by a wonderfully salty limestone minerality. Moderate acidity and a long, powerful finish. Already a pleasure to drink, but can still improve if you are patient. 92+

Retailer tasting. Medium to dark ruby in colour. Red fruit, meaty notes, pencil shaving and some oak on the nose. Red fruit, pencil shaving, oak and vanilla on the palate, with drying tannin. Seemed rustic and disjointed at this stage. I would pass if I was ask to buy some, and would put it away for fifteen years keeping my fingers crossed if I had some. NR

Un beau nez de truffes, presque floral. Belle rondeur, un vin hédoniste, c'est charmeur et goûteux, avec un équilibre impeccable. Délicieux, raffiné, parfait pour la table. 91 pts

Bacchus Wine merchants trade tasting (Beta bar, Castlereagh Street): Plums, very slight chocolate, caramel, vanilla. Juicy, oddly a bit of a mid palate scoop, some front of mouth and gum grip. Bit meh for me.
