I waited too long to pop this cork. Yes, it's at the end of is life, but it was still very drinkable with it's previously mentioned citrus and minerality. Worked well with the shrimp that I cooked with garlic, butter, red chili flakes, fresh lemon juice and (of course) a generous splash of sancerre.

Very pale lemon colour. Mildly lemony nose, a little toasty, otherwise unremarkable. Quite high acidity, some creaminess. Fairly juicy fruitiness, then a honeyed richness. Clean and still youthful, but otherwise mostly forgettable. [Natural cork; 13% abv; Scotmid (Co-op), reduced from £9.99 to £6.69].

Something of a stony/minerally nose. Very light-bodied. Very crisp and tart—of lemon and, maybe, peach. Some grassiness and some stoniness. If you are OK with the tartness, it is a good summer sipping wine, and, certainly, inexpensive.

Good honest Sancerre. I little fruit froward for my liking, but had decent minerality to make this an acceptable summer sipper.
