  • Dinner at home with with Val, Melissa, Rowens and Roslyn. Was looking for something to pair with my "famous" brisket. Last bottle a few years ago, no notes. Decanted for about 45 minutes prior to drinking.

Medium garnet color, light core minor thinning. Nose showing dark fruits and graphite. Palate of blackberry, blue fruit, faint floral/violet. Blue fruit persists through mid palate. Medium weight, long finish.

Really nice showing on this evening. The 2011 vintage was called as a subpar for Napa...this representative of my experience that they have outperformed expectations. They won't go as long as the 2013s, as an example, but they are drinking well at this point.
