BTG at an Italian restaurant, I was thinking lemony citrus with minerally texture, when the wife nailed this first sip saying it tasted like Scuppernongs, a southern native type of muscadine grape (Vitis rotundifolia). I quite like Scuppernongs to eat, and have to agree, but it wasn't much of a first quaff at dinner.

Nutty, some herbal/basil notes, ripe citrus, stone fruit, waxy. Not very complex or nuanced. Not super successful.
