A private lunch (Restaurant In de Wulf *, Dranouter, Belgium): First vintage without sulphur. Deeper colour than the 2009, slightly ruddy, not entirely clear, lots of carbon dioxide; quite funky on the nose, good depth but lacks definition; floral and savoury palate, juicy and primary, crisp but ripe acidity, pure and mineral, estery finish, good length. Fascinating but unfinished. Feels like an undisgorged Champagne.
