This is one of those delightfully old fashioned, Barossa reds. No new oak, build on its fruit but built to last. It is juicy but deep and dark. Plush velevety fruit is strewn with iron filings. To contrast the shade notes of violets add light and the acidity is bright. Drinks so well now because of its balance but should be somewhere near its apogee in a decade.
